Architectural firms register with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office or the West Virginia Tax Department. In order to be eligible to register a firm, the firm should have a minimum of one architect registered in the State of West Virginia. Firms can demonstrate their authority to register with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office by going to License Lookup, finding the architect, and printing out a certificate that should be sent with the firm application to the Secretary of State’s Office or the Tax Department.

- Professional Limited Liability Company (PLLC)
- Limited Partnership (LP)
Entities which register with the WV Tax Department
- Sole Proprietorship
- General Partnership
- Joint Venture.
